About this service
About this service
Four-dimensional ultrasonography is a form of ultrasound imaging that displays selected structures or movements in near real time, commonly discussed in obstetric imaging.
When it is used
A medical professional determines whether conventional 2D ultrasound, detailed anomaly scanning, Doppler or 4D imaging is appropriate. A 4D image is not a replacement for routine antenatal assessment.
Preparation and follow-up
Follow the physician's instructions about timing and purpose. Ask the lab which scanning protocol, appointment and report are provided.
